Thursday, November 20, 2008, 10:51

A MAN was trapped beneath a motorcycle in a water-filled ditch between Moorland and Burrowbridge on Wednesday evening.

Fire crews from Bridgwater, Street and Taunton arrived at the scene with ambulance personnel at 6pm.

Firemen used various forms of equipment to remove the man, including a nearby tractor, to pull the bike off him.

When freed, the man was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton to be treated for minor injuries and shock.

A Great Western Ambulance Service spokesman said: "The response car got to the scene very quickly and the bike was removed in no time.

"When the man was taken to the hospital he was conscious and breathing but had abdominal pains."
